Sony Xperia Odin [LEAKS]

There is alot of leaks this week about the Sony's first ever Quard-Core phone.

The expected specs are-
1.7Ghz Quad-Core
2-4 GB RAM
Nvidia tegra-3 processor
along with nvidia tegra quad-core graphics unit
64 GB internal
Android 5.0 Keylime Pie
and, with 4000mAh battrey...

Will Sony Xperia Odin will be the next big revolutionary smartphone that will be the god of all....

In the leaks coverage it is also fond that Sony could release this phone with a new slogan as well as a commercial i.e. "Quad like a god"

Because this is the first time when some company put the main stress on the battrey life and uses 4 card of ram instead of one...
And the rest as mentioned above everything is Quad (4).

Facebook for Android Get Updated

Facebook for Android is now available for download in version 1.9.11, and, while the latest update is not very special compared with recent ones, it does come with three straightforward and important changes.
Photo functionality should be improved with these three tweaks, which allow for faster photo tagging and a better organizing of your pics in albums. Finally, there’s also the customary bug fix, which this time helps solve a problem that was restricting “people using certain languages” from uploading images from time to time.
For an app build almost entirely in HTML5, Facebook for Android is actually quite spritely, especially when run on more modern hardware. We’re excited for the day when Facebook for Android is built on native code, but for the time being enjoy your improved photo uploading experience.
Facebook also made the “biggest overhaul of [its] Android SDK so far,” making it easier for developers to integrate the social network into third-party apps. These features include the Friend Picker and Places Picker, which apps can use to access the Open Grap in more comprehensive ways.

Rumour : Apple Rethinking Samsung Chip Partnership Amid Strained Relations

New reports online are claiming that Apple is looking to move away from Samsung when it comes to the chips for its products by moving to processors provided by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd.
Every single iOS device has had Samsung-produced processors. Reports says that TSMC will provide Apple with quad-core processors fit for future iPads, the long-rumored iTV, and MacBooks that will use a 20 nanometer processor over Samsung’s 32 nanometer processors. The rationale is that Apple has already verified TSMC’s 20nm chips in August and might begin production in November to prepare for devices in 2013.
As for iPhone processors, it is rumoured Apple will stick to dual-core processors for future models because of their “low-power consumption merit.”
Apple’s reported efforts to marginalise Samsung comes following a long courtroom battle, which has left extremely bitter feelings on both sides of the Pacific Ocean.
One industry source told CNET that the relationship between the two companies has effectively broken down and will result in the two companies parting ways at the end of existing agreements.

Google brings free sms on Gmail in India

Google has extended its free SMS chat service to India, whereby users can send text messages to mobile phones via Gmail Chat.
“You can send SMS messages to your contacts’ mobile phones using Gmail Chat … Google does not charge for using this service,” according to information available with Google’s website.
The SMS service is available in India and 51 other countries in Asia, Africa and North America.
According to the feature, people using either chat programmes ( GTalk, or Gmail chat ) can send texts to mobile users for free and cell phone subscribers can reply at regular SMS rates.
To ensure maximum coverage, the company has tied up with mobile service providers Aircel, Idea, Loop Mobile, MTS, Reliance, Tata DoCoMo, Tata Indicom and Vodafone in a few cities, including Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.
The service starts with 50 SMS credits for each user, every sent SMS costing one credit. Every reply received adds on 5 credits subject to the maximum level being 50 SMS at any given time. There is no official statement from Google on the launch of this service, however the service has gone live this evening in the chat windows of many users.
But don’t stress if you run out. “In case the SMS credit goes down to zero, it will increase automatically to one text after 24 hours. Keep in mind that if you’d like a higher message credit, you can always send an SMS to your own phone, and then reply to that message multiple times. Every time you reply, your SMS credit is increased by five. Effectively, you’re buying more messages by paying your phone company for these outgoing messages,” says Google in an explanatory post on its website.

Apple Announces Oct 23rd Special Event- Here comes the iPad Mini

Apple has just sent out invites for a “Special Event” to be held on Oct 23rd, supposedly announcing the new iPad Mini. While its only been a couple of weeks since when the iPhone 5 was launched Apple has still got a lot more up its sleeve.
While the iPad Mini has been leaked all over the internet, there are more rumors of various other products being launched. Alongside the iPad Mini, Apple will also reportedly update the Macbook Pro 13 inch and offer a retina version of the laptop. A new Mac Mini, revised Cinema displays and iMac are also long overdue.
But its unlike Apple to announce so many products at a single event. While the iMac and revised Cinema display may have to wait, a new Mac Mini is reportedly being worked on alongside the fully confirmed Retina Macbook Pro 13. While speculations will continue to go on, we wont let down the coverage come Oct 23rd, So stay tuned.
The iPad Mini apparently has a  7.85-inch display powered by an A5 processor and 512MB of RAM, priced starting anywhere from $250 to $350, available in a week or two. It will probably come in both Wi-Fi and 3G versions, and will look like, well, a smaller iPad. The event will be  held at 10am PST/1pm EST at the California Center in San Jose.

Sony Nexus X Leaked Online?

Let the plethora of upcoming Google Nexus devices continue. Coming up on their 5th anniversary, Google’s Android OS usually has the honour of one manufacturer per year, but this year it could be multiple manufacturers. We’ve already seen the LG “Nexus 4 leak online, now it’s the “Sony Nexus X” that has reportedly leaked.
A couple pictures arrived on Picasa that show an Android device with the “Google” branding on back, along with Sony. In addition, the tags used in the photo are “google, nexus, nexus x, sony, xperia, sony nexus, xperia nexus.”
The Sony Nexus X in the photos takes a few design cues from Sony’s Xperia smartphones. It has a curved back and a flat rectangular front with almost squared-off corners. Like recent Sony smartphones this one uses the software buttons Google introduced with Android 4.0.
A “Nexus X” could be a sign of the Xperia branding, which is missing. The “Nexus X” name would fit HTC’s direction (One X and One X+), but this could very well be a prototype of some sorts for the “Xperia Nexus.”
Is the phone in these photos the final Sony Nexus X (or Sony Xperia Nexus), or is it just a prototype? Or, is it an elaborate fake? There are already many who are shouting “Photoshop!” about these photos.
Only time will tell if the photos are legit. We’ll keep you updated!

Leaked iPad Mini Pricing Shows 8GB Version Listed As Low As $249

Apple is widely expected to announce a smaller version of its market-leading iPad tablet on 23 October, although the company has not yet issued invites or given any indication that it has a product in the pipeline.
Most expectations are that it will be half the size of the existing iPad, which has a screen measuring 9.7in diagonally; rescaling would mean an iPad mini would have a screen measuring 7.85in diagonally, but with a total of half the screen area of its bigger sibling.
Over the weekend, a German blog posted what looks like an inventory list of the various iPad mini models along with their pricing. According to the screenshot, the iPad mini will be available in 16 different versions. It will come in both black and white and range in storage from as little as 8GB to as much as 64 GB. Additionally, the image indicates there will be versions of the device that can connect to cellular networks.
As per the screen cap, iPad mini will start with 8GB Wi-Fi only variants in black or white that will cost €249. You can double the capacity or add cellular networking to the same capacity for an additional €100. In other words, the 16GB Wi-Fi iPad mini will cost €349, as will the 8GB iPad mini with cellular networking. The trend continues with the top end model with 64GB storage and cellular networking priced at €649.
Given Apple’s current pricing strategy, US prices are likely to be the same i.e. between $249-$649, rather than exchange rate equivalents of their Euro counterparts.
This is apparently the complete line-up of iPad minis that we’ll see upon release next month:
  • 8GB iPad mini Wi-Fi in Black – $249 / €249
  • 8GB iPad mini Wi-Fi in White – $249 / €249
  • 16GB iPad mini Wi-Fi in Black – $349 / €349
  • 16GB iPad mini Wi-Fi in White – $349 / €349
  • 32GB iPad mini Wi-Fi in Black – $449 / €449
  • 32GB iPad mini Wi-Fi in White – $449 / €449
  • 64GB iPad mini Wi-Fi in Black – $549 / €549
  • 64GB iPad mini Wi-Fi in White – $549 / €549
  • 32GB iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular in Black – $549 / €549
  • 32GB iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular in White- $549 / €549
  • 64GB iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular in Black – $649 / €649
  • 64GB iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular in White- $649 / €649
If accurate is the iPad mini priced low enough for you to consider?

Update :HTC is moving away from QWERTY keyboard phones

htc_qwerty
HTC fans hoping for a new Android phone equipped with a QWERTY keyboard will be extremely disappointed to learn that HTC is moving away from producing new devices with physical keyboards. HTC creative director Claude Zellweger made the announcement in Seattle during a press event, stating “As a company the QWERTY keyboard we’re moving away from in general.” Zellweger goes on to say “putting too much effort into that [QWERTY phones] would take away from our devices.” Rather than spending extra time on new hardware designs for QWERTY equipped devices, HTC will focus on improving its on-screen keypad software to consumers.
Even though most of the popular smartphones released in the past few years have not had physical keyboards, QWERTY devices have played a key role in the development of Android and its growth since the very beginning. Couple today’s news with HTC’s revelation from yesterday that they scrapped  plans to release 3,000+ mAh battery-toting devices and you have  a recipe which will produce some angry and frustrated HTC fans.
Having owned three QWERTY phones made by HTC, I am personally disappointed to hear that there may never be a true T-Mobile G3 device to replace my G2. Do you think HTC is making the right decision by abandoning development of new QWERTY devices?
Update: It seems we jumped to conclusions a bit too early. Claude has clarified a few things in another statement, acknowledging that there is a “diehard community” waiting for new QWERTY devices, but HTC is waiting for a few technologies to mature before they test the waters again.

Android 4.2 Key Lime Pie already exists according to Google Analytics

Android 4.2 Key Lime Pie already exists according to Google Analytics. Phones, Tablets, Android, Google, Android 4.2 0

Google Analytics has unearthed a number of smartphone and tablet devices that are supposedly running the latest Android 4.2 operating system, suggesting the update is in the final stages of testing.
The Android Authority noticed it was receiving several visits to its website from devices Google Analytics said were running the yet to be confirmed Android 4.2.
Not only that, but the data also provided the names of said devices - providing a hint of which smartphones and tablets may soon be able to enjoy some Android 4.2 goodness.
The Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Sony Xperia Arc S and, despite its entry-level price point, the Samsung Galaxy Y all appeared to be being used to test the OS update.
Two other names that appeared were the Occam and Manta, rumoured to be a Motorola smartphone and tablet respectively, though this is yet be confirmed.
According to Android Authority, the Google Analytics data shows that visits to its site from these Android 4.2 devices have been occurring since August, suggesting testing has been going on for the past two months.
Android 4.2 is expected to be the follow-up to the Jelly Bean version currently available. Following the alphabetical sweet theme Google has been using to brand its OS updates, the name “Key Lime Pie” has been touted as a possible moniker.
We're more partial to a slice of cheesecake to be honest, but then we guess that doesn't fit the bill.
