Rumored Sony Odin to be known as Xperia X, coming early 2013

The last month of this year has been quite hot to say the least as far as the rumors of upcoming smartphones are concerned. So, ending the last day of 2012 on another high, is this latest rumor which suggests that the upcoming high-end smartphone from Sony, which was previously being dubbed as Odin, will be known as the Sony Xperia X and will be launched during either CES next month or during MWC in February.

Rumored specifications of Sony Xperia X

  • 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM
  • 5-inch full HD display
  • 32 GB of internal storage, micro-SD card slot
  • 13 MP rear camera with LED flash
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
It is expected that the Sony Odin, or the Xperia X will sit right next to Sony’s rumored flagship device, the Xperia Z in terms of specifications, and it is a bit confusing as well, as the rumored specifications are nearly identical to Xperia Z.
It is being said that the Xperia X will feature a 5-inch 1080p display with Sony’s Bravia engine inside. The smartphone is rumores to be powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The Xperia X is expected to house a 13-megapixel rear snapper with LED flash and 32GB os inbuilt storage which will be expandable using a micro-SD card.
The Sny Xperia X is expected to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out-of-the box at launch, which is a bit of a downer, as Android 4.2 is already out and we expect such a high-end device to sport the latest version of Android as soon as it makes it’s debut.
Well, with CES 2013 barely a week away, it’s time we buckle-up and just see what the smartphone world throws at us this year!

Sony Xperia Z Press Photo Surfaces Online

Sony is expected to announce their new 2013 flagship device on January 7th at CES. Leaked images of the “Xperia Z” – previously known as the Yuga – have appeared online and it’s rumoured to have an availability date of January 15th.
